Craig's - 1976 Kawasaki KZ 900

No build is too big!

The grainy picture below is one of the first we received regarding this particular build. A 'barn find' that would send most shops running in the opposite direction. We here at Atlanta Motorcycle Works could see the same potential the client did and decided to take this challenge on.

Knowing that this was going to be a ground up restoration, we started by completely disassembling the '76, chucking everything unusable and powder coated the frame, forks, swing arm and triple clamp.

An unbelievable amount of work went into this engine build. From Vapor honing, Magna Fluxing and blueprinting to new stainless steel valves and all new fasteners, this engine was built to make serious power.

A new aftermarket 4 into 4 exhaust was bolted on to give the big KZ the right sound while new engine case covers, bodywork and fenders round out the factory look.

Once the engine was in an all new electrical system, LED light kit and ignition coil setup with caps was installed.

With the bike up and running we needed some stopping power. For this we went with a brand new caliper, disc and cables. The hubs were rebuilt with new bearings, the wheels we relaced with stainless steel spokes and then wrapped with a pair of IRC Grand High Speed tires.

All new gauges, cables, marker lights, handle bars and controls complete this build.

Here she is. Looking like she just rolled off the showroom floor and ready to strike fear into the hearts of unsuspecting CB riders.
